Mari Peterman, Au.D. CCC-A completed her doctorate of audiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is currently working for Children’s Hospital Colorado at the Colorado Springs location. Beginning before her undergraduate degree, she has volunteered to work with children under the organization Autism Speaks. She has also volunteered as a camp counselor for Adam’s Camp working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other developmental delays. Her undergraduate degree focused on communicative disorders and sciences involving specialized training with patients with multiple disabilities. During her graduate degree, she has been able to work with a number of children with hearing loss, additional developmental delays and children on the autism spectrum during her clinical rotations at the Marion Downs Center, University of Colorado Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Colorado. During the LEND year, she was able to learn more about multi-disciplinary assessment and practice and have the opportunity to work with the other fields that collaborate to provide care to the pediatric patients. She hopes to gain skills in leadership and family-centered care for children with hearing loss and additional disabilities.
