Haley McTee

Haley McTee is a third year Audiology Doctoral student at CU, Boulder. She graduated from CU with degrees in psychology and speech, language, and hearing sciences. She became a LEND fellow in July 2017 and is now a full-time fellow. Her LEND project that she and her colleagues worked on focused on creating video models and visual activity schedules for children with Autism (and other disabilities) to use in the audiological setting. Her capstone for her audiology program is an extension of the LEND project, which will aim to create more video models/visual activity schedules with several diverse individuals and a clinical focus peer-reviewed journal article will be written discussing and supporting the need for using these tools in the audiological setting. In the future, she hopes to implement these tools on individuals with Autism (and other disabilities) to further support her manuscript. Haley has experience working with D/deaf children at summer camps, some of which have comorbid disabilities. She also volunteers her time doing hearing screenings at the Special Olympics each year in Grand Junction. Her main clinical focus is on the pediatric population and working with individuals with disabilities. During her second year of LEND, she hopes to learn more about children with Autism and is excited to start working with and meeting other individuals across other disciplines. She looks forward to continuing to contribute to research that will positively impact children with disabilities, as well as taking leadership courses through LEND.
