2015-2016 Colorado LEND Trainee in Pediatric Audiology:

Dr. Alison Meagher

Johanna Oropeza is an audiologist at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She received her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May of 2016. She completed her 4th year externship at Children’s Hospital Colorado. During her 4th year externship, Johanna was a LEND fellow with JFK Partners, where she had the opportunity to complete research, present at two national conferences and advocate for early hearing detection and intervention services at local state meetings. Her research during her fellowship focused on a Children’s Hospital Colorado self improvement project that will serve as the basis for improving audiologic care. She is currently working on publishing her research findings. She has presented research on the role of parent questionnaires in assessing auditory skill development at the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) 2015 Convention and at the Frontiers in Hearing 2015 Symposium.
